Mariposa Reformed Baptist Church events
Our first series of new member classes will be held immediately after worship on the following dates:
Classes will cover the basics of the Christian faith, ecclesiology (the Biblical doctrine of the church), reformed theology and reformed baptist distinctives.
If you are interested in joining the church, please make it a priority to attend this series of classes.
We at Mariposa Reformed Baptist Church eagerly invite everyone to come and experience together the richness of God’s grace for us in Christ at our first worship service.
To this end, every Sunday, beginning May 12th, 2013 at 10 AM, we will give the principle place in our worship to the expository preaching of God’s Word (1 Corinthians 1:21). Letting the Word of Christ dwell in us richly (Colossians 3:16), we will also offer prayer (1 Timothy 2:1) and sing Psalms and scriptural hymns (Ephesians 5:19) that bring praise to our Triune God. As the one people of God, we will also spiritually feast on the Bread of Life (John 6:35) as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper every Sunday (1 Corinthians 11:26).
Immediately following our worship, we will have a time of fellowship (Acts 2:42), and a (provided) light lunch, followed by a time of sharing (2 Corinthians 13:11), encouragement (1 Thesalonians 5:11), service (1 Peter 4:10), further prayer (James 5:16) and teaching (Acts 2:42).
We will be holding our service at the Mariposa County Library at 4978 10th St., Mariposa. (The library is our temporary location, and we will likely be moving to a different, larger location in town, in the next week or two.)
We will be singing out of this hymnal.
You are invited to our weekly Mariposa Reformed Baptist Church Bible (http://mariposachurch.org/) study tomorrow, Tuesday, April 2nd at 7 PM.
Tomorrow evening in our study, we will be examining the next chapter of the 2nd London Baptist Confession. In chapter 14, we will look at the Bible’s doctrine of “Repentance”.
Contact us or call (209) 379-5672 for location information.
If you missed the first part of our study on God’s Covenant (Covenant Theology) don’t worry — we’re going to continue our look at it next Tuesday evening at 7 PM at my home. Contact us for location information.
There will be no Tuesday evening study on November 20th. We will resume after Thanksgiving on 11/27 at 7 PM.
This week in our study (Tuesday evenings at 7 PM), we looked at the decree of God. As part of his, we discussed the three ways the phrase “will of God” is used in the Bible.
Understanding how the phrase is used in a specific passage of Scripture is important to fully comprehending the meaning of the text.
Last night we studied the doctrine of God and the Holy Trinity as contained in chapter 2 of the 2nd London Baptist Confession.
Next week we’ll look at God’s Decree.
This study is sure to be an exciting one. Join us at 7 PM. Call 209-379-5672 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for location information.
We’re beginning our Bible Study tonight at 7 PM. Please call 209-379-5672 for location information.
Come find out more about us and what we believe at an informal informational meeting on Friday, October 19th, 2012 at 7 PM at the Mariposa County Library. The library is located at 4978 10th Street, Mariposa.
A new Bible study focused on the attributes of God is about to begin in Mariposa in late October 2012. In this multi-week study, participants will learn what the Bible says about the character and nature of God, via their Bibles and the book “One True God” by Paul Washer. The study is hosted by the Mariposa Reformed Baptist church plant, a new “Doctrines of Grace” believing Baptist church opening soon. RSVP or more info at 209-379-5672 or email@example.com. Thursdays 6:30-8:30.
